Wow... It's 2024 already. But more astounding to me is the rapidly approaching 5th Anniversary of the first chapter of The Boys of East Harbor: Michael. Thank you for reading and your messages. But big changes are ahead. The BETA of the upgraded hosting site is up and available for you to view and test, but notice the sections where my stories are will be discontinued on the new site. That creates two big questions: 1. When will the current site go down and switch to the new site? 2. Where should I post my stories after that? This also creates some other interesting situations: • I'll have to repost the story from the beginning and post the chapters in a different format than they are currently posted. If I do that, I'll re-edit the story (many of the early chapters were posted before I found my proofreader). • I've wanted to get back to Mason McCutcheon with a rework of the last chapter to better set up where the story is meant to go (which I decided after posting the last chapter). • Some sites I may not be able to post all my short stories. Should I post on two sites, or just drop the stories that would not be accepted on the new site? I also have two stories that I'd like to begin. One thought it to move to the other site where DouglasDD is posting the Mayfield Magic series (it is one of the sites that might limit which of my stories I can move). Connor (L) & Cooper (R) The SoCal BaseBrawl is over and against all odds, a team from a small town in southern Washington, a team that wasn't even on the radar of the tournament's Board of Commissioners, traveled to sunny skies of San Marcos and were victorious. It was a victory that will be remembered in Mayfield baseball history for a very long time. It is special moments like these that cement friendships for a lifetime, even for members of the Yard Goats that aren't from Mayfield. But the BaseBrawl also brought two very special groups of boys together. And these two groups of boys have also found special connections and have started friendships that will also last for a lifetime. Michael In our latest chapter, baseball is finished and the boys can spend time just being boys. But as summer wanes and the school year approaches, the ease and carefree nature of the East Harbor boys' school break may be tenuous. Johann has his eyes on Jack, but to what end? Josh has been M.I.A. What has happened to Josh and how will this impact Alex and the rest of the boys? Is someone out to come between Lukas and Simon? Our favorite boys from SoCal are pulling out all the stops to will their friends from Mayfield to win a championship. It's a tall order for the underdogs from up north. They have to win three games in a row. Spirits are high, but the boys are starting to tire. Will their pitching hold out? Will they succumb to their frenimies from Canada or let the Torrance Bulldogs get in their heads? it's a field of landmines but the rewards are great. It's Saturday in San Marcos and the SoCal BaseBrawl is in full swing. Teams are knocking each other off to see which three teams will be left standing to play on Sunday. By the end of the day, we'll know who will be respresenting the winners bracket, and which two teams will come out of the losers bracket to play Sunday morning for a chance to play for the Championship. The next school year is approaching but the boys of summer aren't finished. In this chapter, the boys from Mayfield get their first real taste of the SoCal BaseBrawl when they kick things off with a game against Tucson. How will the Yard Goats hold up against the caliber of talent this tournament hoped to draw? The 18-and-under San Diego Force are also put to the test when an undefeated Bakersfield makes a visit to Mission Hills High School to take on the young, but talented Force team. With summer winding down, some of our friends are exploring more personal interests and skipping out on the baseball tournament. The boys from the small town of Mayfield, Washington will be tested to see if they can play with the "big boy." That, however, is a day away. Today, they get to enjoy a baseball clinic, midway games, food trucks, and a concert by At the Majestic. While the Mayfield boys enjoy their day off before the BaseBrawl begins, the band prepares for their "welcome home" show. In addition to their show, they have a surprise for one of the Yard Goats. Unbeknownst to the boys, one of the Yard Goats has a surprise for Michael.

It's finally here! The boys from Mayfield, Washington have arrived in Southern California. On this first day, Alex prepares to face Aiden, Gordy, and the others for the first time since rehab. At the Majestic prepares for their "welcome home" concert with the BaseBrawl participants as their special guests. Jack begins a secret journey that may have devastating consequences. As you know, East Harbor is never boring.

The boys may have thought returning to East Harbor would be peaceful, but their experiences in Europe brought attention to the band back in the States. How will Lars and Carol manage the demands on the band, making sure the boys have some "normalcy" in their lives, and allow the boys to just be boys. While the boys try to manage getting through the month, they are also preparing for the kickoff the Alejandro's Foundation, the debut of their movie at OutFest LA Film Festival, and the SoCal BaseBrawl. I hope your holidays were filled with peace and love and 2023 brings you joy! Thank you all for being patient. I've been working on writing to cover the entire month of July, all at the same time! It has been crazy and challenging to not right in chronological order and part of it aligning story details with another author! But seeing it coming together, I think you'll enjoy it! I've got two chapters with my proofreader and one should be back later this week! I am hoping the next two months will be more fruitful in writing. Between the holidays and being ill, I've had very limited time. Please know how much I appreciate you all for taking the time to read these stories and to all of you who've written. I can't believe how long the journey has been since I opened Word and tried one more time to write a story. This time I guess the pieces fell into place and I was able to get past a fifth page. LOL There is more to come and I've postponed some professional writing projects to ensure I can remain dedicated to writing and finishing this story. I enjoy writing about these characters too much to set them aside. And what would a New Year message be if I didn't give a little teaser... The tour is over and the boys FINALLY get to enjoy their vacation. Though Carol and Matthew have to return to San Diego, the rest of the family heads back to Herning for the vacation they'd expected. When Lars, Zach, his brothers follow the others home, Michael and Christian have their own adventure heading to Norway to visit Christian's family.

I've been getting emails asking about the story. Honestly, I knew the next chapter was late, but I hadn't realized how late. Oops! My apologies for the delay in the latest chapter. Researching did slow down the chapters that take place in Europe (including chapter 54). I must say, after writing these chapters, Stavanger and Antwerp have risen to the top of my bucket list of places to visit. Additionally, Douglas DD and I have been working on the SoCal BaseBrawl crossover. I'm so excited to see this come together. Though I've meant to be more concise, I do seem to be writing longer and longer chapters! Oh well! Never fear, however, a new chapter is coming soon! Chapter 54, wrapping up Michael's European vacation has been edited and sent to my proofreader. I'm also far along with Chapter 55. Hamburg. Rotterdam. Antwerp. Paris. London. The vacation Lars had planned for the boys went out the window. So much for kicking back and relaxing. Their time on the family far would be limited as the boys get caught up in the whirlwind of a partical European tour with one of Crush Music's biggest artists. Just as environmental stressors create pressures on populations causing a genetic shift in the population resulting in evolution. Same as when he and pressure can change coal into a diamond. The chaos and pressures of this experience will change each of their lives be it leading them to make decisions, letting their guard down to try new and unexpected things, or bringing unresolved things to the surface. Whatever the outcome, this experience will bring the family closer together and will live in their memories forever.
