I'm sitting here at my keyboard, sipping on a Tito's and grapefruit juice, having sent the next chapter of Michael's story to my proofreader. As I've written on here before, the story is a loose retelling of my story with a happier twist. Different characters are me, or the me I might have been without the trauma. Telling the story has been a healing process, but in some ways, it is like addiction. It is a never ending, day-to-day struggle. There are good times and difficult times. The hardest part of it all is admitting "I'm not alright." The biggest trigger for me is security and threats to my security. I've been through a lot and worked harder than anyone to get myself to where I am in my career with the intention of being able to work a normal work week and not feel at risk all the time. It's a very triggering for me to feel at risk. Changes at work, the insanity of the world, the coming economic chaos, and other factors started the spiral. I realized I couldn't bring myself to write, play music, or do the other things I enjoy in life. Scrolling through social media, a fall back from engaging in the things I enjoy, I found a post talking about functional depression. Checking in with a therapist, I came to the realization of just how far and had stumbled. Coming back to my writing, I realized I'd been reflecting my own drift into darkness in my writing about MIchael's as the anniversary of his move to East Harbor approaches. I'm regaining my footing. I'm trying to get back into the things I enjoy. Writing is still a struggle and I appreciate everyone's patience. Peace and be well.

The delay in Chapter 74 was partly due to my own visit to East Harbor. A few nights at the Carlsbad Inn & Resort. Dinner at Los Junior's. Enjoying the beaches up and down the coast and nature hikes. It was great to see the boys' stomping grounds and we're their friends from Mayfield stayed and played ball. It was inspiring and can't wait to bring you more about the boys from East Harbor.

That doesn't look like Stavanger... Waldo doesn't have anything on Milo this summer. His modeling career has taken flight, and so has Christian's little cousin. Spain, Italy, France, Los Angeles... What? Will Milo make a trip to East Harbor to visit his cousin and the Meijer boys? It's been nearly a year since Michael and his mother moved to East Harbor. So much has happened and I'm happy you've been along for the ride. I know the story has expanded far beyond Michael and his brothers and I appreciate your feedback and wishes. Stories are about conflict and drama, that's what makes them interesting. But you can't continually have the same character(s) in stressful situations. That's why having a group with various story lines makes it easier to have conflict without wearing out a character or making it even more unrealistic. That's why my plans to have mutliple East Harbor stories going on at the same time ended up with me merging them all into one. There's a lot going on and as soon as Mason heads back to Mayfield, we'll be recapping what's been going with our other characters and the start of the school year. What's going to happen with the Isaac and the trouble with his siblings? Has Derek uncovered Jack's secrets? What's is Johann's next move and ultimate goal? What will Alex do now that Josh is moving to Kansas? How do the twins adjust to Mayfield Middle School? How do the members of the lunch table gang adjust to high school? How will Christian's tennis career proceed? What will Michael do without sports? How will the soccer team do without their star player? Will the new At the Majestic and Mason Johnson albums be hits? Does Agent Parker get transferred back to the San Diego office and move back to East Harbor bringing Gavin back to our story? And, the grand opening of the Majestic School of Dance. So as we learn the fates of Josh, Isaac, Trajan, and others, the new school year in East Harbor has the same mysteries every school in the nation faces its first day. Who are the new kids? Michael and Mason are thrilled that Aiden and Nolan can spend the weekend with them. They've hinted about what's to come, but the baseball stars are ill prepared for what's in store for them. Los Angeles, the LGBTQIA+ community, and OutFEST make the Mayfield boys feel like they are in a foreign country. Join us for the first day of the two-day vaction in LA for the Miller/Sanders and Moyers and see what our SDSU film students turned out to be. The Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.

Wow... It's 2024 already. But more astounding to me is the rapidly approaching 5th Anniversary of the first chapter of The Boys of East Harbor: Michael. Thank you for reading and your messages. But big changes are ahead. The BETA of the upgraded hosting site is up and available for you to view and test, but notice the sections where my stories are will be discontinued on the new site. That creates two big questions: 1. When will the current site go down and switch to the new site? 2. Where should I post my stories after that? This also creates some other interesting situations: • I'll have to repost the story from the beginning and post the chapters in a different format than they are currently posted. If I do that, I'll re-edit the story (many of the early chapters were posted before I found my proofreader). • I've wanted to get back to Mason McCutcheon with a rework of the last chapter to better set up where the story is meant to go (which I decided after posting the last chapter). • Some sites I may not be able to post all my short stories. Should I post on two sites, or just drop the stories that would not be accepted on the new site? I also have two stories that I'd like to begin. One thought it to move to the other site where DouglasDD is posting the Mayfield Magic series (it is one of the sites that might limit which of my stories I can move). Interested in hearing from you on this topic...

Connor (L) & Cooper (R) The SoCal BaseBrawl is over and against all odds, a team from a small town in southern Washington, a team that wasn't even on the radar of the tournament's Board of Commissioners, traveled to sunny skies of San Marcos and were victorious. It was a victory that will be remembered in Mayfield baseball history for a very long time. It is special moments like these that cement friendships for a lifetime, even for members of the Yard Goats that aren't from Mayfield. But the BaseBrawl also brought two very special groups of boys together. And these two groups of boys have also found special connections and have started friendships that will also last for a lifetime. Michael In our latest chapter, baseball is finished and the boys can spend time just being boys. But as summer wanes and the school year approaches, the ease and carefree nature of the East Harbor boys' school break may be tenuous. Johann has his eyes on Jack, but to what end? Josh has been M.I.A. What has happened to Josh and how will this impact Alex and the rest of the boys? Is someone out to come between Lukas and Simon? And will Mason have the courage to sign the recording contract? The last couple of weeks of summer vacation are still packed full of fun and excitement! Alejandro's lauching of his foundation and the benefit concert as well as the red carpet at the premiere of the student film feature the boys at OutFEST Film Festival in Los Angeles. Stay tuned for more! Some of the boys wanted me to upload new photos. Derek has gotten into taking selfies of himself. Isaac liked his new GAP hoodie and wanted to show it office. Abraham sent a photo from his latest photo shoot. And Milo just wanted me to post of picture of him even though he isn't in this chapter. He and his family are vacationing in Saint-Tropez. "Bonjour," from Milo!
